Efficient Transportation Networks

hipping can be handled efficiently and speedily regardless of the final destination. The Port of Portland, located at the northern end of the Willamette Valley, is one of the busiest shipping ports on the west coast. All major shipping lines are represented in Portland and offer services to ports-of-call around the world. Portland is the last port-of-call for vessels with destinations in Asia. Transit time between the Port of Portland and Tokyo is only ten days, the shortest of any west coast port.

Transit time for European ports is approximately 30 days by ship. If delivery time is critical, a land bridge service is available. A container can be shipped by rail to an east coast port where it is loaded onto a vessel, cutting the transit time by one-third.

Portland International Airport offers air transportation, including freight services, to all domestic and international destinations. Several daily flights to Europe and beyond are also available.

With an excellent interstate highway system, the Willamette Valley is only a few hours away from all major cities on the west coast.
